Wow is all I can say!

Open water in March!!!!! With all the warm temps the lake is opening around the shoreline and we have never seen that in March before. Could be a early ice out this year making opening week of fishing great!!!

This is really early to see a Canadian Goose stopping over, like 2 months early! There were two of them but they were to far apart to get a close up in one picture.

The Eagles are having trouble finding food with all this snow but Mom and Child were looking:

Biggest one time snow fall I can remember, 18 inches and counting up to a foot more by tonight!

As we turned onto Hwy 70 to come home tonight, this was the view! Surprises like this are such a bonus up here!

Minocqua is getting a Zip Line Tour starting sometime this summer. So all of you who enjoy the Geico Piggy going down his zip line you can try it for yourself over trees and a lake in Minocqua. And no I will not be testing it out! But it does look like fun!

Great new attraction in Minocqua!

Everyone has a passion in life and many like the quiet comfort of a cabin in the woods to pursue that passion. Well, this lady loves to make socks! And she spent 4 days in our cabin in the woods making socks! On a 100 year old machine that is! The story goes these machines were sold by traveling salesmen to farm wives with written instructions and the offer to buy any socks made to give to the soldiers in WWI.The instructions were hard to follow so many machines were packed away in the attic to be found and shared many many years later. The machine with it’s wires, gears, needles and weights was fascinating to watch. Enjoy the pictures of a long ago but still useful craft.

They have a great ice skating rink at Winter Park also with plenty of skates to use. Love this picture of a father and son getting ready to have fun!

This week was the big Cruiserfest on Lake Minocqua. There were cars and people and fun all over on the ice!
