The loons have abandoned their nest by the public boat landing. I am not sure why as we could not watch them from here. But they have rebuilt a nest just to the right of our far right pier. You can watch them just by standing 1/2 way out on the pier without binoculars. It will be fun to watch them for the rest of the summer and so nice of them to nest close this time!

Imagine the sounds of the frogs and loon,
and you can picture what a beautiful night it is tonight!

The ice melted on over 1/3 of the lake and the rest is real dark so could go any day this week. We are suppose to have 70 for 3 days and that should melt it all. It is now melted on our west shore and usually the loons come back pretty quick and just swim up and down our shore. I am watching for them every day and will let you know. Keep tuned!

Remember the picture of the otters playing on the ice?
Well in the very same spot I saw an Eagle sitting a couple days later.
I went to town and came back, drove down to the lake and saw
TWO Eagles sitting in the same spot. How awesome is that!
Now fisherman what is that telling you???

These playful otters popped through the ice and played all day. The went down, got a fish, came up ate, went down and just played all day! It was fun to watch. They were enjoying the sunshine we had too!

I put up a picture recently as the first warm weather turned the lake like a mirror. Well now the warm weather is really thawing the lake and it has a totally different look. All stripes of white and black. And once it is all black it will disappear fast. It is so neat to watch the different looks of the lake.

The lake is starting to melt with the warm temps we are having. This was the view from the boat landing. It was so beautiful to look at, clear spots and still snowmobile tracks visible. The temps have been in the 50′s and not below freezing at night. Wonderful spring weather!
The cold temps have come and the lake is starting to freeze.
