Winter is coming!

Ice

I went to visit a friend on Buckskin Lake and there was ice on 3/4 of the lake.  As I was taking this picture at the boat landing, a boat came to the landing.  Once the waves from the boat hit the ice there was a musical sound of breaking ice that was breathtaking!

This is Why I love Living Here

When I woke up this morning and opened my eyes this is what I saw:

Sunrise

I then got dressed and hurried down to the lake,

the color was fading fast but this was the view from the hillside:

And this was the view from the Lake Home:

One Last Picture of Fall Color

Fall color

The leaves are falling fast

and all the color has faded

but I had to put up one more

picture taken last week. This

had to be the most colorful

tree we saw this fall. Hope

you enjoy it as soon it will

be all pictures of snow!

The Leaves do Fall!

I went to visit a friend today and on my ride home going down Bo-Di-Lac Dr., it took my breath away to see how beautiful it was. All the branches hanging low with every color leaf and so many leaves on the ground it was like driving though a forest of color everywhere.  And I makes me so thankful to live in such a beautiful place. But the leaves do fall and this picture is after Dick has blown and picked them up 3 times already!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Last week Dick & I took a trip to the eastern part of the state, a place where we had gone many times in the early years of our marriage. Come down memory lane with us:

This is what you see:

Riding down the road viewing beautiful color:               A peaceful Stream:

Fall Color    Stream

An empty Lake Lot:                                 A pretty Stream:

Land   Stream

A pretty, hilly road :                   Buffalo!

Road   Buffalo

But what we really saw were memories, memories  of the creek where we almost lost our golden retiever Rusty who had jumped in the water and couldn’t swim out of the current and almost went through the culvert till we jumped in to grab him.

Memories of a cabin on that empty lake lot that was so horrible and dirty we let them keep the deposit and stayed overnight in the back of our pick-up under the topper – 4 of us!!!

Memories of riding our bikes with our little son Ricky on the back, up and down those hills.

Memories of a young bride who was told that the only he could catch fish was to be slowly rowed around the lake and she did it!

Memories of catching our limit of crappies and having to clean them in the dark with no running water on a hill outside our tent camper!

And memories of the joy of our little son every time we drove by the buffalo.

These are memories that we will never forget and love remembering every time we take a day trip over there.

And that is what we want to do for you at Booth Lake Landing Resort – give you memories that will last a life time!

Sunset!

Fall Color

The other night I was driving the golf cart down to the lake and saw the trees just as the sun was going down and luckily had my camera along as it  was so beautiful to see the sun shining on half the trees making them even more brilliant orange and red! Enjoy!
