In the Trigs Mall the video store is gone! In its place is the Floral Store that moved out of the grocery store and a Coffee Bar! I was hearing so many good things about it I had to check it out. It is a wonderful spot, pretty with flowers and gifts and a wonderful coffee bar.
And they even added a great place to relax.
What a great addition to Minocqua!
As most of you know I am on the Town Board of Minocqua. Well last night we had one of the toughest decisions I have had to make. We had a liquor license to give out and 2 businesses that wanted it. One is The Vine – a wine and beer lounge that was a wonderful addition to town 2 years ago. The other was a Mexican restaurant that would like to come to town in the vacant County Kitchen Building. The decision boiled down to helping an existing business or bring in a new one that will use local people to remodel the building and hire between 12-20 people and fill an empty building. It was an unanimous decision for the Mexican Restaurant which will be a nice addition to town. And we will still have a great place with the Vine Lounge. I hope everyone will enjoy them both this summer!!

Up The Creek is definitely one of my favorite places to shop to find perfect north woods decorations for the cabins. They also have many new and fun holiday decorations. The newest addition has been a large number of north woods fabrics and wool felt projects you can buy finished or in kits to make. And you all know what I bought was the kits. I made many of the table tops for Christmas presents this year. It was so fun! And their prices are so reasonable. It is a must stop for anyone who loves the north woods! Up The Creek is on Hwy 70 just before Trigs.

I thought you might like to see what Torpy Park looks like in the winter! The parking lot gravel is moved around and then flooded to make a skating rink. It is used almost every day with kids playing hockey and lots of fun skating. On Saturday nights there is a bon fire and hot chocolate. Always a good time!

You are going to find many stamp stores in my favorite places to shop as many of you know I love to stamp! Well the first one I am sharing is where I started! I took many classes at this store and learned so much. And my favorite time of the year is a retreat I take at Nosser’s every March. So here are some pictures of where it all started:

I am going to be putting up some of my favorite places to go in Minocqua! We have had wonderful performances at the Campanile Center including local talent and guests performers. It is a wonderful addition to Minocqua! (You can click on their name and go to their website for a schedule )
