The best thing about having a resort is seeing your family and friends. My two brothers came up this spring to spend a week with us and we had a great time together. Here are Dean and Dale with Dick at Musky Shores enjoying some time together. Thanks guys for a great time together!

One of the families staying here at the resort visited The Northwoods Wildlife Center last week. They were told that they had 5 small bears and they were running out of food for them. So when they came back their daughter Kyrea asked me if she could catch some small fish and take into the Wildlife center for the bears. So the next day all the kids were busy catching fish until they almost filled a bucket and took them in. Here is a picture of the kids, Sierra, Teagan, Dad Brad, Kyrea and Mazzie at the Wildlife Center with 150 fish, Kyrea and a volunteer at the Center and one of the bears swimming. The bears are in a back area and you can only see them by camera in the Center. Great job Kids!!!!!

Here is a peak look at the new Minocqua Park that is on the grounds of the old Circle M Corral. It is turning out just beautiful with 3 little league ball diamonds, 2 soccer/football fields, 2 sand volleyball and a beautiful pavillion and festival grounds. We hope to have events going on there every weekend!!!

A great Monday tradition in the summer is the St. Germain Flea Market. There is something for everyone there, antiques, crafts, food and even the sock lady! Everyone in the resort was there last Monday and came home with many treasures.

Here the Minocqua First Responders are busy making breakfast for a fundraiser. It is always a fun place to be on this holiday weekend. We get to see all the neighbors and have a good breakfast too.
We ended Mother’s Day with a trip to a long time favorite Ice Cream Shoppe. If on the way up you take hwy 8 west to Hwy L (which is the old hwy 51 that we took up here for years) and go north a bit you will see the Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe. There to greet you are 3 charming girls Cassi, Annie and Beth and some of the best ice anywhere. It is a very unique place and once you are finished it is a short ride north on L back to Hwy 51. Definitely worth the stop. Thanks Girls!!!

Paul Bunyans opened this weekend! And yes I bought some donuts! They are the best. And the gift store is stocked with lots of new fun things. It is a favorite place in Minocqua.

While my granddaughter was visiting she told me about a very interesting person I would like to share with you. Her teacher (who used to teach in Minocqua!) has a daughter Katie who is engaged to Abe Clark. Abe is running across America to raise money to provide clean water to Haiti. My granddaughter Kate shared his website with me. I looked at it and was so fascinated with his journey and purpose that I wanted to share it with all of you. He started at the Pacific Ocean and you can follow his trail all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. He has a cart he pushes along the way that he named Ruby. If you read his blog you will find out why it’s named Ruby. His blog is so interesting I hope you all have time to look at the website and enjoy his journey through his blog. In the Trigs Mall the video store is gone! In its place is the Floral Store that moved out of the grocery store and a Coffee Bar! I was hearing so many good things about it I had to check it out. It is a wonderful spot, pretty with flowers and gifts and a wonderful coffee bar.
And they even added a great place to relax.
What a great addition to Minocqua!
