Strawberrys Anyone?

It has been a tradition for a couple years now for Maggie and Dick to go strawberry picking at the fields on Hwy 70. This year the first week of picking was the first week Maggie was here so they filled a box pretty quick. And guess who had to clean them all?? But they were so sweet and good, everyone enjoyed them!

Beef-A-Rama

Minocqua’s great fall celebration is a 45 year tradition of cooking beef roasts, parading them down main street and then everyone enjoying sandwhiches at Torpy Park. It is a thank you to all the people who made our summer vacation season a success. The businesses all have treats along the street, and there is even a craft show and street dance. Here are some pictures to show you all the fun this year at Beef-A-Rama!

The Fall Harley Ride

Last weekend was the Fall Harley Ride for MDA. We always have some Harley Riders staying at the resort. This year was wonderful weather for motorcycle riding and this group spent the whole day riding on Saturday and were now getting ready for the ride home. They are a great group of friends riding for a great cause.

The Northwoods Wildlife Center

Another fun place that I took the grandkids was the Northwoods Wildlife Center. This is where they rehabilitate injured animals and hopefully return them to the wild. But there are some animals that can not survive in the wild again so they are permanent residents there. You can take a tour and hear the stories of the resident animals. They also have animals in the building to see and a craft area for kids. We are studying Owls at our Kids Nature Day this year and they were able to see many owls at the center. They really loved going there.

Sheer’s Lumberjack Show

When the grandkids come to visit we get to go see all the fun things around town once again with them. So I took Kaitlyn and Andrew to see the Lumberjack Show and they just loved it! Many of our families go to see it every year and always enjoy it. So here are a few more pictures to enjoy!

Fun Go Carting….

One of the fun attractions in the area is Elmer’s Fun Park. These kids had a great time Go-Carting this week. Many of our families go there every year and always have a great time. And Sarah did pass up her brother Carl!!

Moose Jaw Again

Once again this Wednesday Night the whole resort went to Moose Jaw Resort for the all you can eat walleye dinner. But of course when you have a large group not everyone wants walleye. So Jane ordered a Ham Steak. Wow, what a plate of food she had and said it was wonderful, almost ate it all too! Its always a good time when the group goes together and nice to know there is good food for everyone’s taste. I am sure we will have more pictures as the summer goes along!

Dinner at Moose Jaw

Last night 3 cabins went out to Moose Jaw Resort for dinner and had a great time. On Wednesday nights they have an all you can eat walleye dinner for $11.95 with choice of potato, coleslaw and roll. The food is great and they also have games for the kids to play while waiting for the food. It is a fun family place to go for dinner.
