We were on a road trip looking at color yesterday and came upon a pond with many turtles sunbathing so I took a few pictures that turned out really cool. I hope you enjoy them, here is the first one:

Grouse!!!!

It is soooo hard to get a picture of a grouse. We see them on the side of the road all the time and they run away so fast you just can’t get a picture. But this one flew up into a tree right in front of me and sat there long enough for a picture. Look close, he is there!!!

Pileated Woodpecker

We went for a ride the other day and took some off roads into the woods just to see where they went. As we were riding down one of the side roads we saw this huge Pileated Woodpecker on an old stump. It kept moving down so I didn’t get a good picture of all of it but look close and you can see it.

A Friend in the Woods!

This beautiful deer was standing in the woods on the left side of the driveway going up to our house. It watched us for a long time, then leisurely started eating some ferns feeling pretty safe I guess. It seemed to know we enjoyed watching it and the camera was not a threat! Always love seeing the wildlife!

A New Mom!

We saw this deer laying in the grass not moving except to lick something by its side so we are thinking she had just given birth to a little fawn. It was cool to watch her from afar!

Looking for the Females!

These four male Mallards were swimming around the piers all day all by themselves and I am thinking they were wondering were all the females had gone! As many of you know we have lots of moms and little ones swimming by every summer! They are always fun to watch.

A View from the Lake Home

Ok everyone who stays in the Lake Home or sits on the pier there how would you like to see this?Can you see the Eagle sitting in the birch tree right in front of the Lake Home? He was awesome!

We were driving to town today when we spotted two Eagles on the side of the road eating a deer. By the time we turned around to take a picture they had both flown to trees so this is the best picture I could get. We waited a bit to see if they would come down but they didn’t. We were actually late for our meeting but the eagles were worth the time!
