Well last night we had one of the toughest decisions I have had to make. We had a liquor license to give out and 2 businesses that wanted it. One is The Vine – a wine and  beer lounge that was a wonderful addition to town 2 years ago. The other was a Mexican restaurant that would like to come to town in the vacant County Kitchen Building. The decision boiled down to helping an existing business or bring in a new one that will use local people to remodel the building and hire between 12-20 people and fill an empty building.  It was an unanimous decision for the Mexican Restaurant which will be a nice addition to town. And we will still have a great place with the Vine Lounge.  I hope everyone will enjoy them both this summer!!

Now I know not everyone reading this is excited about that. But just think of the thing you like to do best (fishing, hunting, staying at Booth Lake Landing!) and doing it without interruption for 2 1/2 days! I loved it!! I am in the picture, the yellow sweatshirt in the middle! And yes ladies I did learn some really fun new things for us this summer! retreat

So I packed up my gear and went to church. Much to my surprise there were 13 people there, men and women and most had never stamped! Then I asked how many are me making and was told around 100! Well we got started, made a mess and ended up with almost 100 but sure had a lot of fun and laughs along the way.  These will be given to our local nursing home and the world now has a bunch of new stampers!!!!!

Sarah Hahn bowled a 636 series and joined the 600 club at the alley.  She beat out her mother whose high series is 631 and the only other person in the club.  Way to go Sarah!!!!

But by Sunday snowmobiling was done for another year.  It was a great season!

Jay always added to the end of the prayer these words: “And God keep the animals in the woods safe and warm.” At his funeral a friend repeated these words and then said that Jay had recently added the fish too and he didn’t know why. Well, we do… after he said those words last summer the kids said to him and don’t forget the fish! That is a memory we will always cherish.
